This is a detailed post explaining the configuration options of the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712. My friends can confirm your orders based on your personal preferences.
The plan offers a high degree of flexibility. The above are just recommended options, which can be adjusted according to your needs.
Case and Bracelet
Currently, there are only two recommended options for the case: CNC and PPF. The biggest difference between them is that the CNC is strictly manufactured using data from a genuine case, with beveling craftsmanship that meets genuine standards and features correct engraved text.
For bracelets, PPF is currently the best choice. The PPF bracelet features correct engravings and shape, unlike those from other factories which often have flaws in these areas, as illustrated in the diagram below.
Movement
Currently, there are 3 movement options available:
- ACE movement:
- Currently, aside from genuine movements, this is the best movement available.
- True free-sprung balance
- Gold engraved text with correct and rounded font, a smooth font
- Accurate fish-scale pattern and Geneva waves.
- German silver bridge
- Many users have reported stability issues with the ACE movement. While its performance was indeed problematic in the past, the factory has made significant improvements through multiple generations of upgrades. The current versions of the movement now operate excellently. However, due to its more complex structure, the factory still considers a daily variance within 30 seconds to be within the normal tolerance. This means we may still need to make a choice between exceptional aesthetics and rock-solid stability.
- Engraved bridge movement(This solution involves replacing the original PPF bridges with a completely new set of bridge plates):
- Deeply engraved text with correct color fill
- Accurately shaped C-shaped cutout on the movement bridge(On the genuine piece, there should be a screw in this location. Typically, fixing this issue requires gluing a fake screw, which is not cost-effective. The ACE version has the same problem.)
- Proper gold sleeves/châtons.
- Higher Quality Geneva Waves with Deeper Etching.
- PPF movement:The PPF movement remains the best factory-produced movement available for large-scale production.
- 22K rotor: Since both steel and copper rotors undergo a process of engraving first followed by gold plating, the plating often obscures many details of the surface engraving. Therefore, a 22k solid gold rotor is the ultimate choice for enthusiasts who pursue perfection, as direct engraving on gold allows for more refined and intricate patterns.
Flexible first link
By refining the first link, the bracelet’s range of motion is better aligned with the wrist. Typically, bracelets produced in factories cannot achieve sufficient flexibility. Unprofessional polishing may result in an excessive range of motion beyond the normal scope or leave visible grinding marks on the inner side of the link.
Polish and Rebrush
The primary purpose of re-polishing is to make the edges of the watch bracelet more rounded, reducing irritation from sharp edges on the skin. Re-brushing is performed to refine the surface texture, bringing it closer to the craftsmanship of genuine models. The fine brushing technique enhances the watch’s luster.
